Faculty of Physical Education and Sport of Spiru Haret University was established in 1992 and authorized to function by means of the Government Decision no. 696 on 17 August 2000, published in the Official Gazette issue no.397 on 24 August 2000. The following 4-year majors were given a temporary authorization: Physical Education and Sport, Physical Education and Management in Sport and Kinetotherapy, full-time mode of study.

Faculty of Physical Education and Sport of Spiru Haret University was accredited by Act no. 443 on 5 July 2002, published in the Official Gazette Part I issue no. 675/11 September 2002. The study programs correspond to the principles and ideals included in Magna Charta Universitatum, adopted in Bologna, with Spiru Haret University as a signatory party.

             Faculty of Physical Education and Sport of Spiru Haret University has been developed at a constant rate and it is currently one of the private academic entities for the field of Science of Sport and Physical Education in our country.

            The educational offer from the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport aiming the youth, the strategy of the initial and continuing training, the learning conditions, the fast integration onto the labor market of the graduates, all have meant an impulse for the young people willing to study at the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport of Spiru Haret University.
